Veterinarians are highly trained medical professionals who diagnose, treat, and prevent injuries and illnesses in pets, livestock, and other animals using a wide range of medical equipment and techniques. Beyond caring for individual animals, they play a vital role in public health by preventing the spread of disease between animals and humans. Most work in private clinical practice (serving small or large animals); others work in public health, government, industry, academia, and research.
See the University of Alabama Veterinary School Admissions Guide for more information.
